Who could ask for anything more? Produced by the Boymans Museum in Rotterdam in 1993, Furniture Retrospective is 134 pages of publishing perfection. The pictures are perfect. The text is perfect. And the art direction of the book by 8vo in London is equal to both. 8vo designed sleeves for Factory Records including those for the Durutti Column, whose debut album was covered in sandpaper by members of Joy Division and inspired by the Situationists. This is not entirely unrelated information. Is it? Listen to this for a minute.

Judd wrote his own text for the book. "I am often told that the furniture is not comfortable... The furniture is comfortable to me. Rather than making a chair to sleep in, it is better to make a bed. A straight chair is best for eating or writing. The third position is standing.' He looks comfortable enough above. But that may just be the sandals.

We sold the first edition of this book about five years ago. In fact we sold out the first edition. Now it is back and bigger and better than before. It comes in a folder. It ties up on the side. There are only 500 copies in the edition... and...
It is full of pictures of the young Basquiat. Sold to everyone surely.
That is not our ruler btw. That belongs to the photograph just as the short mohican and the eyes belong to Basquiat. It is such a great book. It won't be around for long as 500 copies is far too few. We are ready to sell. Hit the button!
