VERY LIKELY YOU ARE SEEING THE COVER BELOW FOR THE FIRST TIME. IBIZA MAGAZIN WAS PUBLISHED IN 1981. THESE FIRST TWO ISSUES ARE ALL WE HAVE FOUND. THERE IS NOTHING ON THE INTERNET ABOUT IT. THIS COVER WILL DEBUT ON GOOGLE TODAY. HISTORY IN THE MAKING.

Interplanetary. This is the cover of the second issue of the exceptionally rare and off the scale excellent  Ibiza Magazin. Published on the island in 1981. We know there were two issues because we have them here. Other than that. Nada.

Less words in this week's superbook email. The pictures are too good. This page 'Juke Box Girl Ibiza' is an ad for Dora Herbst's boutique on Calle de la Virgen. The model is Maria and the photographer is the art director and co-editor of the magazine. His name is Marc Stuka.

The photograph above by Marc Stuka. The dashed line tracing the line of sight from their eyes - also Marc Stuka. This discovery of world class talent the world has forgotten has happened to us before. It is reminiscent of Steve Lawrence and Picture Newspaper

The cover of the first issue. Dietrich, "elmut Newton", Hochspannung! (High Voltage!) - all showing the German influence on this magazine, of course, but also on the culture of Ibiza. Cover artist was not German, mind, but Japanese - the great Harumi.*

We would be all of them. Obviously top left first and second from far right second... maybe not top right... but he'd be a hilarious Duckie from Pretty in Pink friend to have! These issues are full of pages like this. See more on these superlinks; issue one and issue two

Right hand - one of the great magazine pages of all time. Left hand - inexplicable (other than that if you had been putting a magazine together and been promised an ad and it just doesn't turn up and there is a print deadline and have xeroxed one of the white horses of the Camargue a few times over).. no, still doesn't make sense!

AND BECAUSE SOMETIMES WE JUST WANT TO OVER-IMPRESS EVERYONE, HERE IS THIS WEEK'S SECOND STRAIGHT UP SUPERBOOK!

AND BECAUSE SOMETIMES WE JUST WANT TO OVER-IMPRESS EVERYONE, HERE IS THIS WEEK'S SECOND STRAIGHT UP SUPERBOOK!

We can't begin to tell you how good this is. It is already the best book of all time from the cover alone.  As far as books go, this is a spaceship!

We would go as far as to say that this may be the single best photograph by an unknown photographer of two unknown people ever. Attach a photographer's name to it - Shore, Meyerowitz, Friedlander - and it would be in the Museum of Modern Art. Absolutely impossibly good.

And more. To prove it is not just a one hit picture wonder book. The above for the hair style. The below for the stripes.

And the Bacterio print borrowed from Sottsass for the art direction... how good do you think this slideshow link is going to be?
